After a feverishly boring day at work and the one thing i was looking forward to a nice meal and a few drinks later with Phil. So after work i decided to buy a new top to wear for the night to make myself feel better.
After standing in numerous changing rooms under the most unflattering lights that seem to highlight all your bad points and make you feel even worse, i was on the verge of giving up! Is it me or do they purposely put really bright unflattering lights in the changing rooms? There is no need, because all you end up doing is pick your face or scrutinise every little blemish under the spot light! For all you guys out there, it doesn't actually take us girls long to try on clothes, we're all in there picking our faces, blackhead city in those changing rooms! Next time you go with your girlfriends and they come out all flushed, that is why! haha
I finally got to River Island, and lo and behold i found a really nice top, and the best thing was that it was only £22 - BARGAIN! I was on a roll then, so i went and bought some bangles and a clutch bag to match as well! HAHA.
When Phil got home, he looked knackered, so i had to ply him with Brandy to get him in the mood, after the day i had i wasn't giving up this night out!! I was in dire need to get drunk! So we eventually got out at 8pm and went to Waterloo to see if we could get a table somewhere, so we ended up at Nicola's and we managed to get a table. I should have realised from the emptiness of the place and how easy it was to get a table that it would be no good. But we sat down anyway, we must have only just been handed the menu and then at least 3 waiters asked us were we ready to order. I was like "bloody hell, give us 10 mins!". We both decided on a started and both chose steak, mine as steak diane and Phil got steak with brandy pate.
My starter was nothing to shout home about, but Phil's was really nice. Then came the steaks, good job they gave us steak knives otherwise i would have done a Uri Geller with a normal knife. We asked for medium on both steaks but they were as tough as hell. I couldn't taste the steak for all the fat that was in it and Phils pate was like eating gravy granuals!! So we were not best impressed at all, me and Phil have been to loads and loads of different restaurants, but this one was by far the worst. It was cheap enough, but there's a reason why.
After that disasterous meal we decided to head for the bars!! So off we went and got ourselves good and drunk!! hehe.
