OMG! What a morning, for the past week i have noticed some rather strange lumps on the back of my neck, which may have been caused from a sore throat i had the other week. But to be on the safe side and a lot of pursuation from Phil i agreed to go to the doctors. My doctor with the rather strange and peculiar toupee examined me and decided to be on the safe side i would need a blood test - WHAT!!! i said, here? now?!
For all of you who do not know me, i am petrified and i mean absolutely petrified of needles. So i started to freak out! I actually tried to sweet talk my doctor into letting me come back another time to get it (yeh right) and he was adamant. So there i went to the nurses office to get the deed done. As soon as i sat down and saw the cotton wool, i burst out crying, snot galore! The poor nurse didn't know what to do with herself, one step at a time she said. Snivelling away i let her do her business, shaking like a leaf! The last time i had a blood test was in Mexico so that we could get married (it's the law there) and at least i had Phil to hold my hand and some alcohol to down straight after! It felt like it was going on forever and then she finished. I felt like a fool, but all you out there, who have a Phobia, you will understand. I have to go back next week for the results. So off i went into work blowing into my hanky. I called Phil and he called me a brave little soldier! hehe.

As if going into work was bad enough, pretty much as soon as i got in, the fire alarm went off and we had to hike outside to the "meeting point" and wait for an hour in the soddin rain for the all clear, oh did i mention, i left my coat inside. My friend Gemma suggested sneaking off to McDonalds round the corner, i wish we had now. By the time we got back in we were like drowned rats! Oh what a glorious Monday morning i am having!

I can totally sympathise. I'm seriously scared of needles too. I once ran out of a GP with the doctor running after me...
Have a cup of tea and eat chocolate

Thanks Elise,
Before the time i had blood taken in Mexico i had to go the hospital once with my sister in law, they said they needed to test my blood and then it took 3 nurses and my sister in law to hold me down!
YIKES!
It looks like we're two of a kind with our phobia. I have no idea why its so scary but it is.
Thanks for the comment on my blog hun. All the entries are factual

ps you and phil look so cute together
Oh my gosh, I feel your pain! My phobia is needles as well (or really any sharp object that might enter my skin). Not sure of your beliefs, but mine are pretty lax, and I once saw this psychic on TV (Sylvia Browne) that if you say a little prayer asking God to surround you with white light and take away your fears then he will. Not sure if he did, or if I psychologically did it to myself, but it actually worked.
