My Consultation

Hey all, I went to the Laser Eye Surgery place for my second consultation for re-treatment. I got there at 11.30 and didn't get out until 1.30, 2 hours worth of tests, eye drops and more tests. I am sure he was enjoying torturing me for hours!

I am sitting here now, really struggling to type this as my eye sight is completely naffed up! During my tests, the Optomitrist put dilating drops in my eyes to check them further, so basically i can't see what the hell is in front of me, only long distance. He said that my eyes have to fully dilate and one may go back to normal faster than the other. "Great" i thought, mu boss wil think i am a freak when i get back, with weird eyes, one dilated more than the other!

The consultant wants me to go back in 2 weeks for further tests, they can't decide whether i can have it done yet. I am now unsure myself whether to have it done again, i remember what it was like last time and it was weird. I won't go into detail incase any of you readers were deciding to have it done.

When i was at the reception booking my next appointment there was a couple next to me trying to haggle to girl at the counter. I almost felt sorry and ashamed for the girl, her boyfriend was trying to reduce her treatment cost of £4,000 down to £2,000!! Is he for real? He was asking for offers, more discounts and anything he can do to reduce the cost. I would have punched Phil if he done that, i would have been like "Aren't i worth it?"!! haha. I guess he was paying! He was asking for a cheaper version (which is the painful version) and you could tell she wanted the other one. They must have been there for about 20mins...!

When i got back into work after the tests, i was already pushing it with the time, so i had to get stuck in, i couldn't hardly see what i was doing and ended up winging it. My boss sat next to me for the rest of the afternoon going over portfolio's and i couldn't hardly see a thing. The simplest things, like typing and reading was soooo hard. I think she was suprised when i was offering tea all afternoon, anything to keep from typing (with risk of mistakes).

I made it safely home in one piece!

I can't believe that girl's boyfriend! How the hell can you put a price on a person's health?! I would have punched him and then dumped him.

XOXOXOXO,

Dilated eyes are harsh! I don't think it should be permitted for an Optomitrist to allow you to go back to work, let alone drive. I remember I had my eyes dilated after a check up and I could barely drive.
And what type of person haggles an eye care professional for discounts? What an uncaring prick.
