Penguins and Parking Tickets
Yesterday was soooo damn windy!! The UK was battered with the wind. On my way to work yesterday morning, i nearly got blown away! I got to the bus stop to wait for my bus and loads of people were already there all gathered together, we must have looked like a scene from "the march of the penguins" because everyone had their heads down and were so close together. I got into work and as we listened to the radio all we heard on the news was the damage the winds had caused. Our boss has been away since Monday in London visiting our Head Office, so we have had the office to ourselves, i have been really busy this week and have been getting the overtime in as well. I decided yesterday to get an hour overtime in to get my filing done and it probably cost me twice what i earned in that hour! Everton were playing the same night so when i got on the bus home the bus was rammed. I had some smelly student sitting on my head the whole way home and as i was reading my favourite magazine, some kid in an Everton kit jumping all over the seat next to me, so as you can imagine, by the time i got off the bus i wasn't happy! As i was walking down towards my street listening to Run DMC "it's like that" (i love that tune) i started feeling better, knowing i was nearly home and i knew Phil was home early today. Suddenly i was stopped in my tracks....NOOOOOOO! I spotted some damn TRAFFIC WARDENS! "the match is on!" "DAMN IT", they were just coming out of my street! They are rife by ours when the match is on and if you don't have a permitt, you get a parking ticket!!! So suprise, suprise i got to the end of my street to my house and lo and behold a yellow and black PENALTY NOTICE! I was like #@&^ !*&~~"$&"* !!! My house door was already open and i walked in and there was Phil bopping away in the kitchen washing the dishes to Jamariqui. I couldn't help but giggle at him and i took him by suprise. He knew there was something wrong as soon as he saw my face and the ticket in my hand. Anyway, there's another £30 in the past 3 weeks i will have to pay out. We have lived here for over 2 years now and have never had to have a permit before. I guess a few people in my area must not have one, because when i walked out this morning to go to work, all i could see and hear is those parking tickets on peoples window wipers flapping in the wind! But since Phil bought me the car we were supposed to get one. I did manage to drag Phil to the council a couple of weeks ago but we couldn't find it. So we tried again today and drove at snails place to see if we could spot it and YEY we did. So finally we have a permit! I can't wait for them to come back when the next match is gone and i can go "HAHA your meal ticket is gone!", I'm sure they work on commission, it's not like i am parked outside someone else's house!

Hi Hayley,
I swear to you, I was working out this morning to RUN DMC- I LIKE THAT, the same song you were listening too. Wow what a small world!! So sorry about the smelly student.
XOXOXOXO,
Cocaine Princess
I hate parking tickets, we have to have a permit for where we live too and yes its near a football ground but its not even a premiership team!
Good for you on getting the permit!

Hi Hayley!
Okay, I'll admit it...also a Run fan.
Traffic wardens in the UK are EVVIIIL. Personally, I'd like to electrify my car so the next one who tries to stick a ticket on there gets zapped.
