Yesterday we went to Chester Races for Jenny's Hen night. First of all i met Jenny and Hazel at Barbara Daly at 8.30 to get our hair done, Jenny paid for us to have it done as a treat - she is fabulous!!We had a couple of hours then to get ready as the coach was picking us up at 12pm.
I'm not a big fan on coaches, but i braved it, i had the aircon on full and just tried not to think about it. I get really travel sick...
We got to Chester Races just in time for the first race, now i don't have a clue about strategic betting, i just read the name, look at the colours of the shirts and go "that one!". My first horse came in 2nd and all the others were doing the same. So we were winning a couple of pounds here and there which was fun. On the last race i won - my horse came in first, which was a nice end to the races.
The lounge we had was really nice, very spacious and we had our own bar, betting booths and seating stand. I really liked it because it wasn't rammed and full of drunken idiots. Last time i went to the races, we were in a place that was rammed, took 30 mins to get served at the bar and you couldn't move, so it was a really nice change. Although i actually got asked for ID as well, i was going mad! I said to them "I'm 26 on Monday!, I'm married for gods sake!!", but still i had to show him my passport - i take it all the time on nights out now, because i seem to get asked some times. I'm not funny, but i don't look younger than 18 do i???
